Carlos is a Los Angeles native and it is growing up there that he cultivated an early love for film and music. His dual love for nature and ancient spiritual practices led him to write his grad thesis on early Celtic Spirituality and how it can inform the Church today.

He has a combined 20+ years of experience in higher education and pastoral ministry in the local church.  He has served in ministry contexts both locally and globally as a spiritual formation pastor, worship leader, and certified spiritual director.

He now makes his home in Portland OR with his wife, Andi, children, Chloe and Joaquin, and Frenchie, Smalls. Carlos thrives in the city’s live music scene, food and beverage culture, and running trails. He continues to indulge his love for film by hosting a film discussion club and weekly trips to Portland’s various independent movie theaters.
